Florida Correctional Officer Arrested

ARCADIA, Fla — The Florida Department of Corrections’ Office of the Inspector General announced the arrest of correctional officer Christina Wiley. Wiley is charged with multiple counts of introduction of contraband, sexual battery and unlawful compensation or reward for official behavior.

FDC’s OIG would like to acknowledge and thank Sheriff James F. Potter and the Desoto County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance and cooperation in this investigation.

The following exemptions apply to the redactions:

The home addresses, telephone numbers, including cellular and personal pager numbers, social security numbers, dates of birth, and photographs of active or former department employees and/or their spouses and children; places of employment; daycare facilities, and/or schools of active or former department employees’ spouses and children (sections 119.071 (4)(d), F.S. and 945.10(1)(e), F.S.

Information regarding a victim’s statement and identity. §§ 945.10(1)(f) and 119.071(2)(j), F.S.

119.071[2][e], F.S., exempting all information “revealing the substance of a confession” by a person arrested until there is a final disposition in the case.

Any information which may reveal the identity of a person who is a victim of any sexual offense. 119.071(2)(h)1; 28 CFR 115, Department of Justice (2012).
