FDC Assault Advisories | April 27 – May 3, 2021

This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty. All assaults are investigated, and disciplinary action is imposed in accordance with policy.

Florida State Prison: On April 27, Inmate David Anderson (Q07836) assaulted an officer by headbutting and biting them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Union Correctional Institution: : On April 29, Inmate Jean Torres (X62858) assaulted an officer by punching them in the chest. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Florida State Prison: : On April 29, Inmate Anthony Ash (N22296) assaulted an officer by striking them with a food tray. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Everglades Correctional Institution: :On April 30, Inmate Alex Knight (183490) assaulted an officer by striking them with a food tray. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Martin Correctional Institution: : On April 30, Inmate Frederick Cole (Y44167) assaulted an officer by attacking them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Sumter Correctional Institution: : On May 3, Inmate Jonathan Hersh (J30838) assaulted an officer by kicking them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Walton Correctional Institution: : On May 3, Inmate Willis Dean (A51630) assaulted an officer by striking them in the head. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
