FDC Assault Advisories | July 13 – July 19, 2021

This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty. All assaults are investigated, and disciplinary action is imposed in accordance with policy.

Gulf Correctional Institution: On July 13, Inmate Anthony Bednarz (X88630) assaulted an officer by attacking them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Union Correctional Institution: On July 15, Inmate Dwayne Hudson (B10540) assaulted an officer by kicking them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Charlotte Correctional Institution: On July 16, Inmate Zachariah Williams (G12804) assaulted two officers by punching and biting them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Hamilton Annex: On July 16, Inmate Tarrus Kelly (P20267) assaulted an officer by striking them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Mayo Correctional Institution: On July 18, Inmate Jaquan Hughes (R87136) assaulted an officer by pulling their hands into the cuffing port. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Union Correctional Institution: On July 18, Inmate Lenell Barnes (X82201) assaulted an officer by pulling their hand through the cuffing port. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.

Santa Rosa Annex: On July 19, Inmate Parnell McKay (M64471) assaulted an officer by striking them. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued. Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries.
