Florida Correctional Officer Arrested

MONTICELLO, Fla. — The Florida Department of Corrections’ (FDC) Office of the Inspector General (OIG) announced the arrest of Correctional Officer Ernest Sweat. Sweat is charged with malicious battery and perjury.

Following the arrest Sweat was transported to the Jefferson County Jail. The OIG acknowledges the cooperation and assistance provided by State Attorney Jack Campbell of the 2nd Judicial Circuit of Florida and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
