VISITOR CONTRABAND INTERDICTION | December 21– December 27, 2023

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) has zero tolerance for contraband of any kind, and visitors attempting to introduce contraband are subject to suspension or termination of their visitation privileges and arrest.

Lowell Correctional Institution: On Sunday, December 24, visitor James Quarles was visiting inmate Trinity Estevez (G91597) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered 2.4 grams of marijuana and a marijuana pipe. The visitation was terminated.

Everglades Correctional Institution: On Sunday, December 24, visitor Larry CollinsIII was visiting inmate Larry Collins Jr. (M73087) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. A search was refused, and the visitation was terminated.

Lowell Work Camp: On Sunday, December 24, visitor Loretta Worley was visiting inmate Ashley Wright (Q34501) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered 7 grams of marijuana and one grinder. The visitation was terminated.

Dade Correctional Institution: On Sunday, December 24, visitor Helen Gibson was visiting inmate Claydous Thomas (135222) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered 14.2 grams of marijuana, a firearm and five rounds of ammunition. The visitation was terminated.

Union Work Camp:  On Saturday, December 23, visitor Anastasia Daniels was visiting inmate Marcel Holmes (133272) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered marijuana residue and the visitation was terminated.
