VISITOR CONTRABAND INTERDICTION | December 28, 2023 – January 3, 2024

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) has zero tolerance for contraband of any kind, and visitors attempting to introduce contraband are subject to suspension or termination of their visitation privileges and arrest.

Liberty Correctional Institution: On Monday, January 1, visitor Katie McGovern was visiting inmate Ladarious Gary (R46450) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. A search was refused, and the visitation was terminated.

 Liberty Correctional Institution: On Monday, January 1, visitor Angela Cason was visiting inmate Manolo Santillan (X72208) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. A search was refused, and the visitation was terminated.

 South Florida Reception Center: On Monday, January 1, visitor Yanella Garcia was visiting inmate Andy Colina (D66418) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. A search was refused, and the visitation was terminated.

 Polk Correctional Institution: On Monday, January 1, visitor Elisa Green was visiting inmate Devonta Simpkins (R75831) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered 1.4 grams of marijuana and the visitation was terminated.

 Avon Park Work Camp: On Monday, January 1, visitor Vernita Bostick was visiting inmate Steve Redmon (Y38456) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered 6.6 grams of marijuana and the visitation was terminated.

 Polk Work Camp: On Monday, January 1, visitor Simone Williams was visiting inmate Linel Campbell (N81710) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered marijuana residue, and the visitation was terminated.

 Liberty Correctional Institution: On Saturday, December 30, visitor Khrisha Kenner was visiting inmate Arlis Blount (V47129) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered 7 grams of marijuana and the visitation was terminated.

 Polk Correctional Institution: On Saturday, December 30, visitor Hope Denney was visiting inmate Jorge Torres (T72525) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. A search was refused, and the visitation was terminated.

 Polk Correctional Institution: On Saturday, December 30, visitor Destinee Williams was visiting inmate Jordan Berry (X62622) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered marijuana residue, and the visitation was terminated.

 Polk Correctional Institution: On Saturday, December 30, visitor Dezana Brown was visiting inmate Caleb Burney (S50745) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered marijuana residue, and the visitation was terminated.

 Everglades Re-Entry: On Saturday, December 30, visitor Yamillette Espinoza was visiting inmate Jonathan Patterson (H61449) when staff discovered cigarettes wrapped in electrical tape. The visitation was terminated.
