VISITOR CONTRABAND INTERDICTION | January 18– January 24, 2024

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) has zero tolerance for contraband of any kind, and visitors attempting to introduce contraband are subject to suspension or termination of their visitation privileges and arrest.

Okeechobee Correctional Institution: On Sunday, January 21, visitor Kiasha Hodge was visiting inmate Chaz Bynum (N80209) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered a 9mm handgun and 6 rounds of ammunition. The visitation was terminated.  

 Florida State Prison: On Sunday, January 21, visitor Tywana Harris was visiting inmate Melvin Harris (134528) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered a 9 mm handgun and 12 rounds of ammunition. The visitation was terminated.

 Martin Correctional Institution: On Sunday, January 21, visitor Miranda Rodriguez was visiting inmate Kevin Pierce (L01129) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered a tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) vape pen and 8.2 grams of marijuana. The visitation was terminated.

 Okeechobee Correctional Institution: On Saturday, January 20, visitor Rebecca Seeber was visiting inmate Donathan Lecorn (U02713) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. A search was refused, and the visitation was terminated.  

 Desoto Annex: On Saturday, January 20, visitor Rose Gianne was visiting inmate Jesse Zink (492625) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. A search was refused, and the visitation was terminated.

 Apalachee Correctional Institution: On Saturday, January 20, visitor Denise Rivera was visiting inmate Dennis Vargas (167596) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered 14.1 grams of marijuana and 80.3 grams of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) edibles. The visitation was terminated.

 Columbia Annex: On Saturday, January 20, visitor Tara Reynolds was visiting inmate Tykevious Jones (W71272) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered marijuana residue, and the visitation was terminated.

 Columbia Correctional Institution: On Saturday, January 20, visitor Tabithar Glenn was visiting inmate Michael Glenn (J09306) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered marijuana residue, and the visitation was terminated.

 Taylor Correctional Institution: On Saturday, January 20, visitor Delarna Watson was visiting inmate De Troy Williams (D51646) when staff witnessed the visitor pass a package to the inmate. Staff discovered 16 grams of xanax, and the visitation was terminated.

 Columbia Annex: On Saturday, January 20, visitor Neequanis Davis was visiting inmate Denniveon August (G51377) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered marijuana residue, and the visitation was terminated.

 Columbia Annex: On Saturday, January 20, visitor Tierra Cuevas was visiting inmate Kameron Riley (J52903) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered 2.7 grams of marijuana, and the visitation was terminated.

 Columbia Annex: On Saturday, January 20, visitor Megan Bex was visiting inmate Ricardo Sellers (U29448) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered 13 grams of marijuana and 1 grinder. The visitation was terminated.

 Avon Park Correctional Institution: On Saturday, January 20, visitor Anastacia Sipp was visiting inmate Sammy Weatherspoon (769728) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered 1.2 grams of marijuana, a 9mm handgun and 7 rounds of ammunition. The visitation was terminated.

 Columbia Correctional Institution: On Saturday, January 20, visitor Alexis Littles was visiting inmate Kenyatta Patterson (Y70301) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered 10.2 grams of marijuana, and the visitation was terminated.

 Avon Park Correctional Institution: On Saturday, January 20, visitor Tyra Brown was visiting inmate Jemel Hamilton (461013) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. A search was refused, and the visitation was terminated.

 Baker Re-Entry: On Saturday, January 20, visitor Daezauna Miller was visiting inmate Andrew Forde (A30264) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered 2.5 grams of marijuana, and the visitation was terminated.
