VISITOR CONTRABAND INTERDICTION | January 25 – January 31, 2024

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) has zero tolerance for contraband of any kind, and visitors attempting to introduce contraband are subject to suspension or termination of their visitation privileges and arrest.

Central Florida Reception Center: On Sunday, January 28, visitor McKinley Jordan IV was visiting inmate McKinley Jordan (705429) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. A search was refused, and the visitation was terminated.

Central Florida Reception Center: On Sunday, January 28, visitor Janelya Rivers was visiting inmate Latravious Rivers (V61547) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered marijuana residue and a handgun. The visitation was terminated.

Central Florida Reception Center: On Sunday, January 28, visitor Kuyla Santiago-Maldonado was visiting inmate Kristopher Ortiz (X98748) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered marijuana residue, and the visitation was terminated.

Mayo Annex: On Sunday, January 28, visitor Tammy Summers was visiting inmate Ezekiel Hopkins (C71915) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered marijuana residue, and the visitation was terminated.

Taylor Correctional Institution: On Sunday, January 28, visitor Krtystal Kruse was visiting inmate Courtney Scott (C05574) when staff discovered the visitor removing items from her body. Staff discovered 110.1 grams of tobacco. Staff informed Taylor County Sherriff’s Office.

Mayo Annex: On Sunday, January 28, visitor Myra Newson was visiting inmate Eddie Kelly (129786) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered marijuana residue, and the visitation was terminated.

Polk Work Camp: On Saturday, January 27, visitor Joan Ortiz was visiting inmate Jason Scott (A20736) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered marijuana residue, and the visitation was terminated.

Polk Correctional Institution: On Saturday, January 27, visitor Shirley Comer was visiting inmate James Austin (H06073) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. A search was refused, and the visitation was terminated.

Polk Correctional Institution: On Saturday, January 27, visitor Taleah Partee was visiting inmate Artavious Handford (H37357) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. A search was refused, and the visitation was terminated.

Mayo Annex: On Saturday, January 27, visitor Sharubia Ervin was visiting inmate Herbert Pearson (M52691) when staff discovered 23 grams of marijuana and 116 grams of methamphetamine. Staff charged the visitor with introduction of contraband and the visitor was transported to jail.

Hamilton Annex: On Saturday, January 27, visitor Destiny Silvia was visiting inmate Kevin Hixon (V52561) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered marijuana residue, and the visitation was terminated.

Quincy Annex: On Saturday, January 27, visitor Xorina May was visiting inmate Xavion May (L98117) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered marijuana residue, and the visitation was terminated.

Suwannee Correctional Institution: On Saturday, January 27, visitor Marquita King was visiting inmate Ahmah Grayer (V09248) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered 13 grams of marijuana, and the visitation was terminated.

Jefferson Correctional Institution: On Saturday, January 27, visitors Jose Dineckober and Patricia Lopez were visiting inmate Jose Baeza-Pulido (P90439) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. A search was refused, and the visitation was terminated.

Tomoka Correctional Institution: On Thursday, January 25, visitor Laurel Skipaith was visiting inmate Shaun Dai Jones (C11130) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered marijuana residue, and the visitation was terminated.
