VISITOR CONTRABAND INTERDICTION | February 8 – February 14, 2023

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) has zero tolerance for contraband of any kind, and visitors attempting to introduce contraband are subject to suspension or termination of their visitation privileges and arrest.

Liberty Correctional Institution: On Sunday, February 11, visitor Jessica Foster was visiting Inmate Jeremy Sullivan (P63889) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered a marijuana vape pen, and the visitation was terminated.

Sumter Correctional Institution: On Sunday, February 11, visitor Benjamin Starling was visiting Inmate Henry Starling (J33266) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered 3.9 grams of marijuana, and the visitation was terminated.

Suwannee Annex: On Saturday, February 10, visitor Christian Collins was visiting Inmate Edward Babbs (L93999) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered marijuana residue, and the visitation was terminated.

Polk Correctional Institution: On Saturday, February 10, visitor Yolanda Boyd was visiting Inmate Maurice Jackson (T04115) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered marijuana residue, and the visitation was terminated.

Hamilton Annex: On Saturday, February 10, visitors Nadia Lofton and Mariah Oconnell were visiting Inmate JD Boatwright (P80368) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. A search was refused, and the visitation was terminated.

Polk Correctional Institution: On Saturday, February 10, visitor Tifani Mills was visiting Inmate Deandre Berry (T02837) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered marijuana residue, and the visitation was terminated.

South Florida Reception Center: On Saturday, February 10, visitor Kristy Padilla was visiting Inmate Erick Elias (M80210) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered marijuana residue, and the visitation was terminated.
