Visitor Contraband Interdiction | June 22 - June 28, 2023

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) has zero tolerance for contraband of any kind, and visitors attempting to introduce contraband are subject to suspension or termination of their visitation privileges and arrest.

Okeechobee Correctional Institution: On June 24, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession of 195.4 grams of marijuana and 68.9 grams of wrapping paper during a pat search. The visitation was terminated. The visitor was arrested.

Calhoun Correctional Institution: On June 24, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession of 37.3 grams of THC outside the institution. The visitation was terminated.

Northwest Florida Reception Center: On June 25, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession of 28 grams of methamphetamine and 34.4 grams of MDPV during a pat search. The visitation was terminated. The visitor was arrested.

Homestead Correctional Institution: On June 25, staff discovered a visitor attempting to conceal two packages of 58 prescription pills and 30 cigarettes in the visiting restroom. The visitation was terminated. The visitor was arrested.
