Visitor Contraband Interdiction | August 3 – August 9, 2023

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) has zero tolerance for contraband of any kind, and visitors attempting to introduce contraband are subject to suspension or termination of their visitation privileges and arrest.

Martin Correctional Institution: On August 5, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession of 73 grams of white powder substance, 79 grams of marijuana and 147 grams of tobacco during a pat search. The visitation was terminated, and the visitor was arrested.

Okeechobee Correctional Institution: On August 6, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession of 16 grams of THC during a pat search. The visitation was terminated, and the visitor was arrested.

Avon Park Correctional Institution: On August 6, staff discovered a visitor and an inmate attempting to conceal inappropriate physical contact. The visitation was terminated.
