Visitor Contraband Interdiction | August 24 – August 30, 2023

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) has zero tolerance for contraband of any kind, and visitors attempting to introduce contraband are subject to suspension or termination of their visitation privileges and arrest.

Polk Work Camp: On August 27, staff discovered a backpack containing seven grams of methamphetamine and an identification card belonging to a visitor across the street from the institution. The narcotics were confiscated and the visitation was terminated.

Okeechobee Correctional Institution: On August 27, staff discovered a visitor and an inmate attempting to conceal inappropriate physical contact. The visitation was terminated.
