Visitor Contraband Interdiction | September 14 – September 20, 2023

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) has zero tolerance for contraband of any kind, and visitors attempting to introduce contraband are subject to suspension or termination of their visitation privileges and arrest.

Okeechobee Correctional Institution: On September 16, staff discovered a visitor emanating a strong aroma of marijuana. After a search, the visitor was found to be in possession of 120 grams of marijuana. The visitation was terminated and the visitor was arrested.

Calhoun Correctional Institution: On September 16, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession of drug paraphernalia outside the institution. The visitation was terminated.

Holmes Correctional Institution: On September 16, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession of drug paraphernalia outside the institution. The visitation was terminated.

Central Florida Reception Center: On September 17, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession of 2.5 grams of marijuana outside the institution. The visitation was terminated.
