Visitor Contraband Interdiction | October 12 – October 18, 2023

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) has zero tolerance for contraband of any kind, and visitors attempting to introduce contraband are subject to suspension or termination of their visitation privileges and arrest.

Walton Correctional Institution: On October 14, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession of marijuana paraphernalia outside the institution. The visitation was terminated and the Walton County Sheriff's Office confiscated the paraphernalia.

Holmes Correctional Institution: On October 14, a visitor admitted to having contraband outside the institution. Staff discovered the visitor to be in possession of 74.7 grams of marijuana. The visitor was arrested by the Holmes County Sheriff's Office and charged with the introduction of contraband and possession of narcotics over 20 grams.

Union Workcamp: On October 14, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession of one gram of marijuana outside the institution. The visitation was terminated.

Calhoun Correctional Institution: On October 15, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession of one gram of marijuana outside the institution. The visitation was terminated.

Calhoun Correctional Institution: On October 15, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession of an undisclosed amount of marijuana outside the institution. The visitation was terminated.

Reception and Medical Center: On October 15, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession of eight grams of marijuana outside the institution. The visitation was terminated.

Liberty Correctional Institution: On October 15, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession of three grams of marijuana outside the institution. The visitation was terminated.
