VISITOR CONTRABAND INTERDICTION | October 26, 2023 – November 1, 2023

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) has zero tolerance for contraband of any kind, and visitors attempting to introduce contraband are subject to suspension or termination of their visitation privileges and arrest.

Marion Workcamp: On October 28, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession of a firearm and 13 rounds of ammunition outside of the institution. The visitation was terminated.

Desoto Annex: On October 28, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession of seven grams of THC outside of the institution. The visitation was terminated.

Reception and Medical Center: On October 29, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession of two grams of marijuana and 43 grams of cocaine-soaked papers outside the institution. The visitation was terminated.

Hardee Correctional Institution: On October 29, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession of marijuana paraphernalia outside of the institution. The visitation was terminated.

Reception and Medical Center: On October 29, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession of an undisclosed amount of marijuana outside of the institution. The visitation was terminated.

Union Correctional Institution: On October 29, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession of 12 grams of marijuana outside of the institution. The visitation was terminated.

Okeechobee Correctional Institution: On October 29, staff discovered three separate visitors to be in possession of an undisclosed amount of THC outside the institution. The visitation was terminated.
