VISITOR CONTRABAND INTERDICTION | November 30 - December 6, 2023

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) has zero tolerance for contraband of any kind, and visitors attempting to introduce contraband are subject to suspension or termination of their visitation privileges and arrest.

Avon Park Work Camp: On Sunday, December 13, visitor Angelo Owens was visiting inmate Jerry Beckwith (V90419) when a K9 alerted to the visitor's vehicle. A search was refused, and the visitation was terminated.

Sumter Correctional Institution: On Sunday, December 13, visitor Bailey Perry was visiting inmate Christopher Perry (X83385) when a K9 alerted to the visitor's vehicle. Staff discovered marijuana residue and the visitation was terminated.

Polk Correctional Institution: On Saturday, December 12, visitor Marche Russ was visiting inmate Robert Miller (R77428) when a K9 alerted to the visitor's vehicle. A search was refused, and the visitation was terminated.

Sago Palm Re-Entry: On Saturday, December 2, visitor Bernard Paulena was visiting inmate Guy Paulena (W45861) when a K9 alerted to the visitor's vehicle. Staff discovered 4.0 grams of marijuana and the visitation was terminated.

Hamilton Correctional Institution: On Saturday, December 2, visitor Jakeisha McCaskill was visiting inmate Michael Givens (V40404) when a K9 alerted to the visitor's vehicle. Staff discovered 0.2 grams of marijuana and the visitation was terminated.

Tomoka Work Camp: On Saturday, December 2, visitor Liliane Hill was visiting inmate Reinaldo Rivera (H40500) when the visitor was unable to clear a metal detector. The visitor refused a search, and the visitation was terminated.

Suwannee Correctional Institution: On Saturday, December 2, visitor Patricia Mills was visiting inmate James Mills (148419) when a K9 alerted to the visitor's vehicle. Staff discovered 0.7 grams of medical tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and the visitation was terminated.
