VISITOR CONTRABAND INTERDICTION | December 7 - December 13, 2023

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) has zero tolerance for contraband of any kind, and visitors attempting to introduce contraband are subject to suspension or termination of their visitation privileges and arrest.

Central Florida Reception Center: On Sunday, December 10, visitor Elizabeth Brown was visiting inmate Samuel Sweeney (W92087) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered marijuana residue, and the visitation was terminated.

Baker Re-Entry: On Sunday, December 10, visitor Petra Torres was visiting inmate Larry Wells Jr. (J01965) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered 1.1 grams of marijuana, 9mm handgun and 7 rounds of ammunition. The visitation was terminated.

Columbia Annex: On Sunday, December 10, visitor Sonya Espinosa was visiting inmate Steven Escobar (B12956) and departed the institution. After the visitors’ departure, staff discovered 102 grams of synthetic marijuana on inmate Escobar. It is suspect that visitor Espinosa gave inmate Escobar the contraband.

Desoto Work Camp: On Sunday, December 10, visitor Malynda Rumph was visiting inmate Dwayne Rumph (Y55035) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. A search was refused, and the visitation was terminated.

Martin Correctional Institution: On Sunday, December 10, visitor Leslie Pelham was visiting inmate Akino Jackson (P45384) when staff discovered 63 grams of marijuana. The visitation was terminated.

Tomoka Correctional Institution: On Sunday, December 10, visitor Mildred Early was visiting inmate Reginald Early (D45719) when staff discovered 8 grams of cocaine. The visitation was terminated.

Northwest Florida Reception Center: On Sunday, December 10, visitor Krystal Light was attempting to visit inmate Bryant Floyd (H35587) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. A search was refused, and the visitation was terminated.

Reception Medical Center: On Sunday, December 10, visitor Patricia Wynn was visiting inmate Nicholas Wynn (T86426) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered 10.5 grams of marijuana and 2 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) gummies. The visitation was terminated.

Columbia Annex: On Saturday, December 9, visitor Victor Cannon was attempting to visit inmate Patrick Applegate (127867) when staff discovered 86.5 grams of cocaine. Columbia County Sheriff’s Office was contacted, and the visitor was arrested and transported to jail.

Avon Park Correctional Institution: On Saturday, December 9, visitor Aiba Rodriguez was attempting to visit inmate Kveon Jiles (J71985) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. A search was refused, and the visitation was terminated.

Hamilton Annex: On Saturday, December 9, visitor Keira Wyche was visiting inmate Daniel Wyche (133056) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered marijuana residue, and the visitation was terminated.

Central Florida Reception Center: On Saturday, December 9, visitor Lesha Vickey was visiting inmate Raheem Billington (T82500) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered marijuana residue, and the visitation was terminated.

Central Florida Reception Center: On Saturday, December 9, visitor Nathaniel Mozano was visiting inmate Daniel Manzano-Gonzalez (N70998) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered marijuana residue, 9mm handgun, 3 magazines and 33 rounds of ammunition. The visitation was terminated. 

Apalachee Correctional Institution: On Saturday, December 9, visitor Eric Marcotte Jr. was visiting inmate Eric Marcotte Sr. (V46748) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered 1.5 grams of marijuana and the visitation was terminated.

Hamilton Annex: On Saturday, December 9, visitor Teresa Stinson was visiting inmate Sammy Stinson (J39742) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. A search was refused, and the visitation was terminated.

Hamilton Annex: On Saturday, December 9, visitor Ashley King was visiting inmate Tommy Turner (L68979) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered marijuana residue, and the visitation was terminated.

Hamilton Annex: On Saturday, December 9, visitor Fiona Blackwell was visiting inmate Carlos Strickland (J23769) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered marijuana residue, and the visitation was terminated.

Hamilton Annex: On Saturday, December 9, visitor Jonquala McCrary was visiting inmate Adam Phillips (B20547) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered 1.1 grams of marijuana and the visitation was terminated.

Hamilton Annex: On Saturday, December 9, visitor Deseiana Pichardo was visiting inmate Gianni Pichardo (W91408) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered marijuana residue, and the visitation was terminated.

Hamilton Correctional Institution: On Saturday, December 9, visitor Nichol Lehmann was visiting inmate Christopher Lehmann (Y70860) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered marijuana residue, and the visitation was terminated.

Hamilton Correctional Institution: On Saturday, December 9, visitor Rachel Williams was visiting inmate Hunter Robinson (S81018) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered marijuana residue, and the visitation was terminated.

Liberty Correctional Institution: On Saturday, December 9, visitor Ariana Thompson was attempting to visit inmate Dwan Smith (E41616) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered 1.5 grams of marijuana on the passenger of the vehicle, Domonique Douglas. The visitation was terminated.
