VISITOR CONTRABAND INTERDICTION | December 14 - December 20, 2023

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) has zero tolerance for contraband of any kind, and visitors attempting to introduce contraband are subject to suspension or termination of their visitation privileges and arrest.

Holmes Correctional Institution: On Sunday, December 17, visitor Tarencia Curtis was visiting inmate Greg Mcfarlane (G27388) when a correctional officer observed the visitor handing the inmate narcotics. Staff discovered 30 grams of tetrahydrocannabidinol (THC) and 27 grams of Tobacco. Holmes County Sheriff’s Office was contacted.

Sago Palm Re-Entry: On Sunday, December 17, visitor Angella Rosato was visiting inmate Domingo Padilla Jr. (L14753) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered two hotspots taped in electrical tape. The visitation was terminated.

Putnam Correctional Institution: On Sunday, December 17, visitor Eric Rookard was visiting inmate Akeem Cox (A91476) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. A search was refused, and the visitation was terminated.

Hamilton Annex: On Saturday, December 16, visitor Ruby May was visiting inmate Chad Wimert (P27574) when staff discovered methamphetamine. Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office was contacted, and the visitor was arrested and sent to jail.

Avon Park Correctional Institution: On Saturday, December 16, visitor Robin Howard was visiting inmate Damon Kemp (J91947) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. A search was refused, and the visitation was terminated.
