Weekend Visitation Announcement

Normal visitation to resume most locations beginning October 13

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) today announced visitation operations will resume at most institutions beginning Thursday, October 13.


Weekend visitation remains suspended at the following locations:

  • Avon Park Correctional Institution
  • DeSoto Annex & Work Camp
  • Charlotte Correctional Institution

Visitation suspension is in effect until further notice as staff continue recovery operations from Hurricane Ian. FDC looks forward to resuming normal visitation at these institutions as soon as possible. To receive visitation updates, please text “FDCVISIT” to 888-777.

Individuals are encouraged to visit the Department website or social media channels prior to contacting individual institutions. Frequent updates regarding visitation and office closures will be posted on Facebook, Twitter and www.FDC.MyFlorida.com.
