UPDATED: Inmates Evacuated from Gulf Correctional Institution Return to Facility

WEWAHITCHKA, Fla. â€”Today, The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) announces the safe return of approximately 1,700 inmates who were evacuated from the facility on March 8, 2022, due to a nearby wildfire.

All inmates are accounted for, safe, and well. Individual inmate locations will be updated on our website within 24 hours.
