A Faith & Character Based (FCB) Residential Program located at Lowell Work Campmay take up to 36 months to complete the program. The FCB Residential Program will emphasize the importance of personal, familial and civic responsibility, victim awareness, personal growth, meaningful work, education, substance abuse education, and peer support. The FCB Residential Program is organized for promoting change in inmate knowledge, behavior, and attitude in seven learning modules, and up to three phases of completion in the program. A Faith-based and self-improvement residential programs is designed to facilitate inmate institutional adjustment, rehabilitation, reintegration into the community, increased system-wide institutional security, reduction of recidivism, and a full range of religious accommodations.
Extended Day Program
In response to Chapter 958, Florida Statutes, mandating that those inmates who are youthful offenders be provided enhanced program services, the Extended Day Program was developed. This is a 16-hour daytime program provided at all youthful offender institutions that is designed to provide at least 12 hours of activities. The program is structured to include work assignments, education, including vocational and academic programs, counseling, behavior modification, systematic discipline and other programmatic opportunities aimed at reducing inmate idleness and enhancing the young inmate's chance at becoming a law-abiding citizen upon re-entry into the community.
